Why the Math Works Under Heavy Barbell Loads

Designed for rapid duodenal transit during high intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) bracing

01 • OSMOTIC GRADIENT ~175–185 vs. 290 mOsm/L

Hypotonic Osmolarity (~175–185 mOsm/L)

Commercial sports drinks fail during heavy squats and deadlifts because they are hypertonic (300–350+ mOsm/L) relative to human blood plasma (285–295 mOsm/L). High sugar density pulls water out of tissues into the gut lumen, delaying gastric emptying and causing GI bloat and stomach sloshing under a lifting belt.

Molar Breakdown in 32 oz (~0.95 L)
15.00 g Dextrose: ~83.2 mmol
2.50 g NaCl (Na⁺ + Cl⁻): ~85.5 mmol
0.39 g KCl + 0.39 g Mg Malate: ~7.9 mmol
Resulting Osmolarity: ~175–185 mOsm/L
Net Flow: Lumen → Blood Plasma Zero GI Sloshing
02 • SGLT1 MECHANISM 2 Na⁺ : 1 D-Glucose

SGLT1 Cotransport Precision

The Sodium-Glucose Linked Transporter (SGLT1) in the intestinal brush border is an active symporter that requires a strict stoichiometric ratio of 2 Sodium ions (Na⁺) to 1 Glucose molecule to pump solute—and ~260 water molecules per cycle—directly into plasma.

43.5 mmol Na⁺ (1,000 mg) ⇄ 83.2 mmol D-Glucose (15 g)
[2x Na⁺] + [1x D-Glc] → SGLT1 Active Pump

Provides a deliberate molar surplus of pure D-glucose to saturate every Na⁺ transporter on contact while capping calories at just 60 kcal.

03 • MINERAL ARCHITECTURE 5:1 Na:K + Malate

5:1 Na:K Ratio & Magnesium Malate

5:1 Sodium-to-Potassium (1,000 mg : 200 mg) mirrors human sweat losses and preserves the Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase resting membrane potential across skeletal muscle fibers during high-RPE sets.

Why Magnesium Malate (60 mg Elemental Mg)?
  • ✕ No Oxide / Citrate: Avoids osmotic laxative pull and mid-workout GI cramping.
  • ✕ No Glycinate Pre-Lift: Avoids inhibitory glycine neurotransmission / sedation during training.
  • ✓ Malic Acid Synergy: Direct Krebs cycle intermediate for ATP regeneration + tart citrus flavor pairing with True Lime.

Ingredient Sourcing & Equipment Specification Guide

Every raw material is selected for pharmaceutical purity, rapid cold-water dissolution, and zero gastrointestinal side effects.

HARDWARE ±0.01 g Resolution

0.01g High-Precision Digital Pocket Scale

Mandatory for sub-gram accuracy: Standard 1g kitchen scales cannot measure 0.39 g of KCl or Magnesium Malate. Select a 0.01 g jewelers/pocket scale bundled with a 100g calibration weight.

CARBOHYDRATE 15.00 g / Serving

NOW Foods Pure Dextrose Powder

100% pure D-glucose monohydrate: Directly binds to intestinal SGLT1 transporters without requiring enzymatic hydrolysis. Contains zero fructose (which requires hepatic metabolism via GLUT5 and slows gastric transit).

SODIUM SOURCE 2.50 g → 1,000 mg Na⁺

Redmond Real Salt (Ancient Fine Sea Salt)

Unrefined ancient seabed salt: Zero chemical anti-caking agents (no sodium silicoaluminate), zero metallic potassium iodide aftertaste, and a fine grain crystal structure for rapid dissolution.

POTASSIUM SOURCE 0.39 g → 200 mg K⁺

BulkSupplements Potassium Chloride Powder

~52% elemental potassium by weight: Pure USP-grade KCl powder with zero fillers or flow agents. Delivers 200 mg elemental K⁺ in just 385 mg of total powder while contributing chloride ions.

MAGNESIUM SOURCE 0.39 g → 60 mg Mg²⁺

BulkSupplements Magnesium Malate Powder

~15% elemental magnesium by weight: Highly bioavailable chelate bound to malic acid. Prevents muscle cramping without GI distress or CNS drowsiness.

ACIDITY & FLAVOR 1–2 Packets (0.8–1.6 g)

True Lime Crystallized Lime Packets

Citric acid + cold-pressed lime oils: Cuts the heavy salinity of 1,000 mg sodium into a crisp, refreshing limeade profile with 0 calories, zero sugar, and zero artificial sweeteners or dyes.

Standard Operating Procedure

Step-by-Step Mixing & Bulk Prep Protocol

STEP 01

Start with 8–10 oz Room-Temperature Water

Add 8 to 10 oz of room-temperature water to your 32 oz bottle first. Crystalline powders and chelated minerals dissolve significantly faster before ice is introduced.

STEP 02

Tare & Weigh on 0.01g Digital Scale

Place a small weighing cup on your 0.01g scale, press TARE, and weigh out: 15.00 g Dextrose (or 25.00 g fasted), 2.50 g Redmond Real Salt, 0.39 g Potassium Chloride, and 0.39 g Magnesium Malate (Total dry base: 18.28 g).

STEP 03

Add True Lime & Agitate 15–20 Seconds

Pour the weighed powders and 1 to 2 packets of True Lime (0.80 g – 1.60 g) into the bottle, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until dissolved.

STEP 04

Top to 32 oz with Cold Water & Ice

Fill to the 32 oz (~950 mL) mark with cold filtered water and ice, then give one final swirl. Begin sipping 10 minutes prior to your first warm-up set.

Lab Note: Pink Mineral Sediment

A slight reddish-pink mineral sediment settling at the bottom of your bottle is completely normal—it is harmless natural trace bentonite clay and iron oxide inherent to unrefined Redmond Real Salt. Simply swirl the bottle before your final sip.
